This download is for "PDFCrack-GUI"; the GUI I created to accompany the terminal based tool 'pdfcrack' by Henning Noren (https://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcrack/). This tool provides desktop based Linux users with a friendly GUI to use pdfcrack and enables most of the options of that backend capability, as expected. It allows users to attempt to recover a PDF password that they may have forgot and are currently unable to open, or it may assist law enforcement and cybercrime related investigators. There are a myriad of options available, such as using wordlists, specifying minimum and maximum password lengths and more.
This is version 1.2 and it ships with v0.19 of pdfcrack. It is now on Github here : https://github.com/tedsmith/PDFCrack-GUI
Version 1.1 was originally made available on Sourceforge in 2017 until May 2020 and it shipped with pdfcrack v0.16. I will soon close down that project page and direct users here.
Download the zip, extract all files to a folder and ensure they have executable permission. Then simply double click 'pdfcrack-gui'.
